Boy, I suck at this

I am not consistent with this site AT ALL!!!A whole summer has passed...artwork, motorcycles, TOY HAULER!!!!!! Peter and I are leaving for Florida in a few days, and my internet access will be sporadic - as if I'm not sporadic enough! There was a Stamp Camp last weekend with my Stampin' Up! buddies, and Nightmare starts this week. I am taking Julie Prichard's Super Nova class, so I am making journals and actually working in them! Also signed up for Suzi Blu's Petit Marie class, but haven't watched the videos yet. Gotta figure out how to take my growing stash of art supplies in the limited space of the motor home...we have a Gypsy Wagon, too, Suzi Blu! It is getting cold in Oklahoma again, so going to Florida will be sweet.

Great Weekend

We had a nice, quiet weekend at home. On Monday, Peter helped a friend/neighbor wire their hot tub. They took us out to dinner, then we helped them test it! It sure was great to be in a hot tub again. We enjoyed it a lot. The last time we had the opportunity to soak was in Hot Springs on St. Patrick's Day. That was a great time, too.

Spent the day today in my studio, but didn't get much done...played on the computer most of the time. Then we went to town and did some shopping, hung out at the Harley store for a while, had lunch...

Here is my latest mixed media stuff. Another petit doll from Suzi Blu's class and my attempt at the first lesson of Julie Prichard's Layer Love class. Guess which is which!

The doll is done on wood, and the background is in my journal.

Here are a couple of paintings I did this spring. I am loving returning to artwork. I learned I could actually do decent work when I took fashion design classes back in the late 1990s. It has probably been 10 years since I picked up a paintbrush. I am having a blast with this! The first one is from SuziBlu's Les Petit Dolls Beginner class, and the other is from Willowing's World Of Whimsy Workshop. I would recommend both women as excellent teachers.

Wow. I don't update this much, do I? I'm probably the only one reading it! I took SuziBlu's Petit Dolls Beginner class last month, now I am taking Julie Prichard's Layer Love. Can't wait to get started on that one. Yes, I am a couple of days late signing up. I wasn't sure if I wanted to take the class, then decided I needed to! I am going to upload all my pics from flickr and ning sites here so they are all in one place. Then I will upload my classwork as I do it. I'll try to be a bit organized (ho ho ho). Last weekend I took an altered book class at Sparks Fly here in Skiatook, OK. It was a great class. I learned soooo much and I love love love doing my book! I'll try and upload some pages soon.

Here are some Christmas cards I have been designing. The 'Believe' ones are a work in progress. I like the Season's Greetings one a lot. I first used the trees on that one.

I have been spending a lot of time on You Tube watching vids by SuziBlu, Willowing and Milliande. I dragged out my sketch book and have been busy playing with mixed media art. I love making cards, but I love this too! One of these days I will take some pics and upload them. Until then, just words!
